Steps Taken After an Accident at Work

If an employee has suffered an Accident at Work then there are various steps that need to be taken before receiving legal support. The employee must report the accident in the accident book. At the same time the employer should really have reported this accident/injury to the HSE (Health and Safety Executive). The employee should check over their contract for information regarding sick pay. One important thing to do that would help to significantly boost the chance of a work accident claim being successful would be take some pictures. These pictures would be of the injuries caused and also of the accident scene. Most of us of course use mobile phones today and a large majority of these come with a basic camera that can be used here. Finally, it will be important to keep a diary from the accident onwards. This should note everything from visits to the doctor, to specific times when the injury was causing any uncomforting pains and so on.
